New Forest - News
Is there an event, activity or opportunity for young people happening in your area? Let us know and we'll include your news on this page for other young people to read.
The New Forest Youth Council is for young people aged 13-19 who wish to be involved in decision making that directly affects them and their friends. It provides a great chance to meet people, discuss the things that matter to you as young people and, most importantly, have FUN whilst making a difference.
The group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at various venues across the New Forest.
If you would like to be involved or find out more, contact Jo Humphrey on 07968 955465 or Kerry Beesley on 07976 009147 or ring the Applemore Connexions centre on 023 8087 7960.
The Voice forum is a group of young people from across the Forest who have learning difficulties and disabilities. They get together once every 6 weeks to talk about and action things that need to be improved for other young people with learning difficulties and disabilities in the New Forest.
The group has been involved in lots of positive activities and achieved some great results. They have raised questions and issues with the Police Advisory Board, been successful in gaining funding to pay for coaching and sports hall hire to run a sports club and spoken to the Youth Opportunity Funding Award Panel about funding youth workers to help at the youth club. The new youth club started in May 2007 and runs every Saturday in term-time.
If you would like to be involved or find out more, contact Sarah West on 023 8087 7960.
