Born Free are recruiting new runners to join Born Free's run a 10 mile local road race in Southsea. The Great South Run was voted the second most popular race in the United Kingdom by readers of ‘Runners World’ magazine. We need your help to reach as many people as possible to join our local Run Wild Team at The Great South Run 10 Mile run, in Portsmouth, Sunday 28th October

Portsmouth lads who have only just finished Year 11 have launched their first five-track EP at Virgin Megastores.

PACE (Portsmouth Arts and Community Education) is looking for 8 – 10 Young People to work with an experienced artist and professional arts and media equipment on a community arts project.
The project will be run from May 07 until Feb 08 (in three 6 session blocks) and will take the form of:

The beginning of the project will include a field trip to the Tate Modern to look at installations and to get inspired.

Are you aged 16 - 19?
Could you handle 22 weeks of military preparation?
Exercise every day and improve your physical condition. Develop skills useful for the rest of your life. Participate in adventure training and week long residential periods with the Armed Forces. No commitment or obligation to join the regular force during or after your preparatory training. Visit your local Connexions Centre for details and they will book you an informal interview at Rainer City Training in Portsmouth.
Training sessions will begin on May 1st 2007 and every Monday after that. The sessions will be held between 9am - 4pm from Monday to Friday at the Mountbatten Centre and Army and Navy Facilities across Portsmouth.
The training will include the following modules: Drill, Military Equipment, Personal Administration (cleanliness), Regimental knowledge and understanding, Physical Training and Nutrition, Field craft, First aid at work, help with Job application process and goals, Navigation, citizenship and charity events.
A week's residential every 12 weeks at Longmoor or Aldershot gives the recruits a sense of reality of what military life is really like.
Travel costs are paid and EMA can be applied for.
