Connexions in Basingstoke is reaching out to the young people of Tadley through a drop-in service at Tadley Library.
From August 2006 young people in the area have been able to drop in to the library for advice and guidance on issues they are faced with.
The location of the new drop-in centre allows young people living in more
rural areas of Basingstoke access to the Connexions service. Connexions
Personal Advisers are on hand to offer information, advice, guidance and
support on many issues including; careers, education and training, health and
relationships, money, housing, personal development and volunteering.
The drop-in is open to young people aged between 13
and 19 years, or up to 25 for those with learning difficulties and disabilities,
every Wednesday from 2 to 4pm.
Martin Redstall, Connexions Personal Adviser identified the need for a drop in
service in the area and comments: “We want to make sure the Connexions
service is available to all young people, including those who live in more rural
areas. It’s good that we can work with the local community to make the
service more accessible and we are pleased that Tadley Library is able to offer
the venue for the drop-in.”
